¡Hoy recibí mi certificación PADI Open Water!

Desde el momento en que abrí el buzón de casa y vi el logotipo de PADI, sentí ganas de escribir esta carta de agradecimiento a Aventura en Canarias, esperando que sirva como motivación a mucha gente que quizá tiene la inquietud de hacer el curso pero no se atreve a dar el paso porque el submarinismo parecería algo complicado o simplemente lo catalogan en su mente como imposible.

Hace tiempo, cuando visité Gran Canaria por primera vez, busqué en la web empresas dedicadas a organizar excursiones o actividades de aventura en las islas, para que quizá me orientaran sobre cosas diferentes y divertidas que pudieran convertir mi viaje en algo verdaderamente extraordinario. Solo tenía vacaciones durante una semana, así que automáticamente descarté la posibilidad de algún curso pero aún así decidí contactarles. Crecí en una ciudad grande y alejada del mar así que, viajar 4 horas en coche para poder hacer submarinismo, alejó de mi mente casi por completo la posibilidad de llegar a hacerlo, es verdad que siempre se me abría la boca con los documentales submarinos pero bueno, prácticamente me parecía imposible hacerlo.

Al pedir información sobre las posibilidades, me plantearon la opción de hacer el bautismo… pero, ¿Que es el bautismo? Conocer el equipo de buceo, y vivir por lo menos un pequeño instante de tu vida, respirando bajo el agua y disfrutando del entorno submarino a poca profundidad.. Nunca voy a olvidar la sensación. Estaba automáticamente decidido que el curso de buceo era lo que iba a convertir mi viaje en algo increíble. Hablé con los instructores y me explicaron detalles sobre los fondos canarios; aunque parecía increíble podría hacer el curso sin problema en poco tiempo. No voy a decir que no tuve que estudiar y comprender detalles técnicos del buceo, pero en definitiva, al final del todo, hasta hasta tuve oportunidad de hacer excursiones!

Con mi certificación PADI podré hacer buceo durante mis próximas vacaciones, muchas gracias por todo a Aventura en Canarias, a los instructores y a mis compañeros de curso. Espero que coincidamos de nuevo! ¿Porque no hacer buceo este invierno? ¡Que maravilla que en Canarias siempre tengan un clima que les permita hacer cosas todo el año!

From the moment I opened the mailbox and saw the PADI logo, I felt like writing this letter thanking Aventura en Canarias.

I hope this letter represents a motivation for many people who may consider doing the course but they do not dare to take the plunge because it seems complicated or its somehow already catalogued in their minds as impossible. Long ago, when I visited Gran Canaria for the first time, I searched online, companies engaged in organizing adventure tours or activities in the islands so that they could provide me some guidance regarding activities that could turn my trip into something truly extraordinary. I was only in holidays for a week so I automatically ruled out a course but still decided to contact them.

I grew up in a big city, 4 hours away from the sea, this naturally took away the diving idea from my mind… and it is true, that ocean documentaries always left me excited about the subject but well, it just seemed unreachable back then. When I asked about adventure possibilities in the island, during the period of time that I would stay there, the word baptism came along. But, What is a Baptism? you might be asking yourselves. Away from any religious concept, a diving baptism is basically, getting to know the diving equipment, using it and living a small moment of your life breathing underwater, enjoying the environment and the blue depth. I will never forget the feeling. It was then, automatically decided that the diving course was going to be that “something” turning my week of holidays into an incredible experience.

I will not say I didn´t have to study and understand technical details to dive, but in the end, time was enough and I still got the chance to participate in several diving excursions! With my PADI certification I can dive on my next holidays. Thank you very much for everything Acentura en Canarias. Special Thanks to my instructors and classmates, I hope we meet again! Why not diving this winter? Its wonderful that climate in Canarias allows you to dive all year long!
